The story of the Brändle family in Stuben am Arlberg goes back as far as the 1920s and has lasted for three generations. At the time, grocer Karl Brändle from the Rheintal in Arlberg came here to open a new business. He had been mayor for some time in Klösterle and co-founder of the Albona cable car in Stuben. The cable car still functions to this very day, taking you closer to the summits.

Karl Brändle was also successful as a hotelier. In 1932 he together with architect Hans Fessler built the Arlbergerhof in Langen am Arlberg. In 1962 the Hotel Albona in Stuben followed. The latter was then passed on to his son Karl-Heinz and his wife Sigrid.

The former “Gasthaus Gasthof Alte Post” in Stuben changed over the last two centuries, resulting in today’s hotel. Architect Fessler left his signature on this building, too. Since 2002 the traditional hotel has been run by the Brändle family. Under the new name of APRÈS POST HOTEL,Thomas and Irene Brändle manage the former Post Hotel. The couple has led the hotel into a new era after its scrupulous refurbishment and enlargement. The till at the hotel reception is reminiscent of the times when letters and parcels would be sent via horse-drawn carriages across the Arlberg.
